From 19-23 October 2016, as the leading yealy event in the publishing world, the Frankfurt Book Fair will once again be held in Frankfurt, Germany. The Frankfurt Book Fair is the international publishing industry’s biggest trade fair – with 7,100 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, around 275,000 visitors, over 4,000 events and approximately 10,000 accredited journalists – including 2,000 bloggers - in attendance. It also gathers key players from other media, including the film and games industries. Nowadays, the Frankfurt Book Fair is much more than a book exhibition, it is also a platform for content exchange and project cooperation. Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair thinks that there is no other book fair that compares the Frankfurt Book Fair as a highly open platform of cultural and thoughts communication.

The influence of the Frankfurt Book Fair goes far beyond the duration of the exhibition each year, but it reaches to countless activities, seminars and exhibitions throughout the year. Also, in order to keep the balance of business and culture, the organizer has also been seeking various business cooperation mode in the operation of the fair, including investing into the promising online trading platform IPR Licence and co-organizing the StoryDrive Asia with Singapore partners.

This year, from May 28 to June 1, the Frankfurt Book Fair will hold its fourth StoryDrive Conference in Beijing, China, in cooperation with the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). Staged in Beijing since 2012, StoryDrive has become the most important international transmedia trade event for the publishing and media industries in East Asia. “The Chinese publishing market continues to grow rapidly and international cooperations between China and the global publishing community play an increasingly important role in that process,” said Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair.
